.Samoens is a beautiful and largely undiscovered Alpine town in the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps. Just one hour from Geneva, it is directly linked to the huge Grand Massif ski area, which includes Flaine, Morillon and Les Carroz.
In Summer it remains a lively and bustling market town, unlike many of the purpose built winter only resorts. Many of the ski lifts run in the summer, meaning much of the leg work can be taken out of the hikes, and plenty of bars and restaurants open late into the evening so there's plenty of refreshment on offer for your return.
Our chalet - Ferme Sougey, is located just outside Samoens, on the banks of the Giffre river which runs through Samoens and on to Geneva. The river holds tonnes of activities (which can be assessed from the chalet!) including rafting, kayaking, canoeing, canyoning, water skiing in the local lakes, or just plain larking around.. There are plenty of other non water based activities including paragliding, climbing, abseiling and helicopter rides over the Mont Blanc. All of these we are happy to arrange for you -
check out the activities page for more info and prices..
Situated between Morzine and Mont Blanc, this really is a stunning spot with every hike (and post walk beer) boasting incredible surroundings.
